Humanistic Counselling in South West London

Confidential Compassionate Counselling

I am an experienced fully qualified counsellor with a BSc in Humanistic Counselling. As a registered member of BACP, I work fully within the Ethical Framework as set out by the BACP.

I am trained to offer face-to-face, online and telephone sessions.

We will work in a gentle, supportive way that encourages growth and self-understanding. Our sessions will be confidential, where you can talk openly, without judgement and be offered support as you explore your experiences.

Working together at a pace you're comfortable with, you'll gain clarity and develop your self understanding resulting in improved self worth.

A safe space to explore difficult feelings. I'll offer a warm, steady presence and a space where you can begin to feel more at ease with yourself and start to move towards the changes that feel right for you.

Life often comes with challenges. You may experience anxiety, childhood related issues, stress, low self-esteem, relationship issues, trauma, developmental life changes, work issues or face bereavement and loss at times. You don’t need to face these alone.

Support that meets you where you are. Reaching out for therapy can feel like a frightening step. We can look at these feelings and any questions you may have during our introductory call or in our sessions. I will sit alongside you and we will move at your pace.

Questions you may have:

What should I expect?

Once you contact me via my contact form by email lgreavestherapy@gmail.com, or call me on 07859 718246 I will reply to you within 2 working days unless you receive an out of office notification and then I will reply according to the message.

We will then sort out a convenient time to have our initial 15-minute phone call to chat through your hopes and expectations of therapy and if you decide you would like to proceed then we will find a convenient time to have our first 50-minute session, either in-room or online.

I specialise in adults 18+.

What's expected of me as a client?

Everyone is an individual coming to therapy with their own distinct motivations and influences. I would encourage you to be open, honest with yourself and be curious.

What is your role?

I am there to listen, notice and observe what you are bringing to the session from your perspective. We will work together on feelings and thoughts that arise promoting long-term change through self-realisation. Integrative counselling is both respectful and collaborative. My gentle, supportive approach treats you as a whole person and encourages growth and change. I will listen without judgment, and support you as you explore your experiences, instead of offering quick fixes.

What are your qualifications?

I have a BSc in Humanistic Counselling from Middlesex University and a Diploma in Humanistic Counselling from Metanoia Institute. I work with clients integratively, using Person-Centred, Gestalt and TA modalities. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy. I hold a Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling. I am continually updating my practice with regular CPD training and attend Supervision regularly.

How many sessions will we have?

In our first session we will talk more about your hopes for therapy. Our work is open ended but I feel it is important to agree on a certain amount of sessions before we start and then see how we would like to progress. Every few weeks we will have a check in to see how we feel the sessions are going. You are able to decide how long your therapy will last, and in return my aim is to make sure therapy continues for only as long as it is of benefit to you.

Location

I offer talking therapy both in person and online, so you can choose the setting that feels most comfortable for you. Some people prefer the quiet space of my therapy room near Clapham Junction, which is easily accessible from areas such as Clapham North, Wandsworth, Battersea. Others appreciate the ease and privacy of meeting online from home.

Our sessions will last 50 minutes, usually taking place weekly. The price per session is £80. I offer a free initial 15-minute chat, where you can let me know what you are hoping for from your therapy and we can talk about how we may work together.
